I poo-pooed the #greening of the city’s #laneways as unnecessary and maybe detracting from their gritty urban quality, but actually it’s quite nice, and it’s still gritty. This is #GuildfordLane, the once unknown now totally hip laneway near queen st. Also now surrounded by new #penciltowers, luckily the lane itself has had a 15m #heightcontrol since 1982. For a while it was discretionary, and a 7 storey development replacing the single storey black warehouses got approved, but think it’s now lapsed ? Hope so !
