Melbourne tram system ‘bundy clock’. Drivers had to ‘clock in’ at major stops, and the record (paper tape) was later checked to see if trams on time. Still in use in 1990s. Most gone, this one recently restored and re-erected at rebuilt domain interchange. Had correct time !
Update 2024 : Found a pic of one in place in 1980 (pic 2). The Domain one disappeared I think even before the tram stop was dug up in 2018. Don’t know where it went, but the @trammuseum has one on display (pic 3). They also have a photo of a ‘conductress’ using one in 1942.
