Tennis anyone ? Labassa pavilion 1890.

November 2018:

This is the Tennis Pavilion at Labassa, a very rare thing indeed, since similar garden things from other large mansion estates are long gone. It was probably added when Alexander Robertson revamped the house to what we see today in 1890, and probably designed by JAB Koch, who did the house. The tennis court was off to the east in the extensive gardens. When the Labassa grounds were reduced for a second time in 1919, creating Manor Grove, it seems to have stayed pretty much where it was, reused as a shed in the back garden of 13 Manor Grove. The @nationaltrustvic bought Labassa in 1980, gradually acquiring original items, and when this became available in 2014, they bought and restored it, and put it here in the newly created lawn on the east side. A bit hidden away, but nice to see !
