The #Skyrail stations are actually huge compared to the crappy 30s-60s shops next to them (in one case less than a metre!), but it doesn’t feel bad, or cramped it even ‘under’ probably because it’s so high, that you tend to sort of look under it, and the station itself is off to one side. Lots of grey, but that’s ok, feels nice and solid (but maybe will age badly ?), big fat beams and viaducts, still not sure why so huge, engineers being overly safe I suppose. No graffiti (yet). I like the huge beam at #HughesdaleStation that allows one leg to go off to one side, increasing the spaciousness. A splash of colour with the toilets, but otherwise everything is grey, black whirs and rounded, with lots of #LEDstrip lighting, looks vaguely #spaceage, wonder how long it’ll last ?

The vaguely #spaceage canopies at the new #Skyrail, @coxarchitecture, an exact mid point of groovy and practical low maintenance. Surprised to realise those huge canopies are over one far end of the #Skyrail stations platforms, which puts them above the main ground level concourse I suppose, and I guess you can move there if the rain gets horizontal, but still. Another surprise that the #platforms were #asphalt ! Not tiles or bluestone like below; but I like asphalt. Also surprised that #HughesdaleStation wasn’t quite finished. Thanks to my pal @deddle8ug for Sunday’s trip.
