That’s not just any star, it’s the star of the #LoyalOrangeOrder, the Irish Protestant association. It’s in #CentenaryHall in Exhibition Street which has been the home of the Victorian #LiberalParty since they bought it in 1976 from the Protestants who built it in 1935, replacing an earlier hall. There’s a big auditorium on the first floor that could seat 450, still there, hence the grand stairs. It was designed by Philp & Bottoms who must’ve been Protestants, never heard of them. There’s also a #crownandseptre On the front, guess it’s a reference to Britain being a United Kingdom. Sold to @rolexaustralia last year, I suppose they’ll use the hall to display / sell their watches.

Update 20 May 2023:
In 2021, Rolex bought the whole building, and it’s now their Oceania HQ. The renovation is by @woodsbagot, and they kept the lobby and the 1st floor hall mostly intact, which is great since there are no protections for the interiors. Elegant fit out too. And they added a separate entrance on the corner, which is fine. I havnt seen it myself, these images from ‘Man of Many’ magazine.
