The new #UniversitySquare looks a bit bare ! All the elms were #senescent so had to be replaced eventually, and the plan was to pull them all out, so glad they kept some, because it’s going to take 20 years for all the new trees to look anything like the drawings – but with gardens you do have to take the long view. The design takes over parts of the road space on all sides, and why not, and has something for everyone ! A water garden, plaza, bbq, cafe, seating, a biodiversity corridor, stormwater swale, a basketball hoop etc etc
