The kind of suburban developer #postmodern that gives it a bad name, but I rather like its #baroque complexity and possibly original 80s pastel tones. #HighStreetArmadale.

Update : it was demolished the next year, and the site added to the Edwardian bank next door to become apartments called Alara, by @bharchitects. I got pics of the bank during demolition in 2018, and they kept a good depth of it (I think); the new stuff is well set back, nice to see. The new facade is a bit too boldly scaled though, big panels of glass/masonry, but the new shopfronts are nice. The bank itself is now an upmarket grocery @victorchurchill.melbourne, the shopfront takes the old bank window to the ground, but in timber framing, looks very fine.
