I saw this a week ago but immediately looked away – a wall of towers at the south edge of the Queen Victoria Market. The site is created by making the road there half as wide, and the tallest thin one is actually where the roundabout is, ie the middle of Queen Street, so the area will go from quite open to canyony. It’s offices, student housing, and affordable and build to rent apartments, on top of basement market parking. Something like this was part of the masterplan from 2015, but I really don’t know why exactly anyone thought it was a good idea. I’m sure Council is pleased about the mix of uses, but the scale is awful. Third image is an earlier scheme, much less like a wall.
