It was 4 years ago that The #HotelWindsor tower was declared off ! Here’s what I said then : 11 years after first proposed, #RichardWynne #MinisterForPlanning has refused to extend the permit. It was already extended by VCAT twice, and the last time they said it should be the last. So now maybe they’ll give up and sell ? Or just do the boutique redevelopment they should have done in the first place ? Last image is a rendering I commissioned in 2010 when I was at the @nationaltrustvic, it’s pretty accurate. Doesn’t show that the final plan involved gutting the front wing too, leaving only the grand stair and dining room untouched. It’s been such a long saga with many permits and appeals, I just updated the Wikipedia page, it did my head in, but it’s all there now. Update 2023 : seems to be middling along like before.
