Delightful doorway spotted near my place – turns out it’s called The Mayfair, 39 #EildonRoadStKilda, and there’s photos of it at @library_vic from when it was built in 1941. It’s sort of French Chateau style (or maybe Chateau Marmont). A follower on Instagram found that there’s another block with many matching details at 28 Washington St Toorak, which is by #ArthurPlaisted, also 1941, so safe bet this is Plaisted too. It also has some parking built in, pretty rare in pre-war flats. Update 2021: Ground floor front flat is for sale, very cute with the tower room nook, but id rather go for traditional furniture.
