Pretty sure this is an original #CastIronVerandah rather than a later reproduction – the bases now lost under extended pavement, and basically it just looks too old and wonky to date from the 80s when the CofM funded reproductions. Interesting that A. it survived the wholesale removals of the 50s, and B. has posts slightly inset from each side. (On the other hand it has the CofM coat of arms that was part of the standard reproduction verandahs, but must also have existed in the 19thC, so I’m sticking with my ‘it’s original’ theory. I think there’s other originals in the street).
