Some interesting early flats in Vale Street, Jolimont East, built in 1914. Sort of castley, with those octagonal turret bits, but otherwise Arts & Crafts /Edwardian, an uncertain style for a new way of living/investing in Melbourne at the time. Originally 4 flats, with a nice stair, and two squeezy corridors, and two flats with hardly any natural light. Sold in 2010, (pics 3-5) and since then converted into two much bigger flats, compete with lift, and completely characterless inside. The top one comes with a roof deck and a happy couple (pics 6-8). I assume/hope the stair and the nice entry doors are still there, but the fireplaces are gone.
