The final look of the Fed Square entrance to the Metro Tunnel station (though it still says ‘concept’). Basically it’s like the original image, which made the glass look invisible, but of course it isn’t, so not sure of the point of the zippy steel structure underneath. It’s pretty much the same as the ones at Anzac Station, that looked zippy but are now encased in glass. A very disappointing design for a major corner. Would have been better to reference the design of Fed Square, something like the visitors centre demolished in 2019. The whole place was listed by Heritage Victoria the same year but no idea if they’ve had any influence on the design, but probably not. Some have suggested building the original unbuilt shard design, but I wouldn’t go that far.
