An idle half hour seeing if Leonardo AI could make a convincing historic Melbourne street scene – the answer is no, but there’s some fun results ! The first three use a shot of the Rialto group as a prompt (pic 4), good buildings but too many spire tower things. The nest two prompted by a 1900 shot of Collins Street in the rain (pic 7), and it insisted on putting in early cars, but one seems to use the town hall. The others I just used words, including Melbourne and bank and cable cars, a couple not bad, but it was clearly using photos of San Francisco cable cars and American streetscapes in general, with awnings and relatively plain buildings. The last thre were my first try, rather cartoony, complete with modern or are they c1900 skyscrapers, and one clearly using Flinders Street Station.
