Worse for wear

Worse for wear

23 October 2024

Wonky big old terrace house in Danks Street, Albert Park; one of a pair that are unusually grand, with Corinthian columns holding up a top level platform no doubt for the views, with brick parapet, and a coved timber lined ceiling below, and at first floor Palladian window that from inside is off-centre because of the second narrow stair. All rather odd. The interior photos are from when it sold in 2017, and a permit was issued in 2018 for the usual ‘keep the front rooms all new behind’, modified just recently, meanwhile the verandah has slipped a bit more. The plan looks pretty close to original, with no indoor toilet. The verandah must have had some lace across the top, but the restored one next door has unfortunately glazed the verandah in, and didnt put any lace back.

Two peeps on Instagram had a connection!
