The fine restrained Georgian style offices at the Camberwell Tram Depot, built 1929. It has a corner piece like a little classical temple with a clock to keep the drivers on time perhaps. It was designed by Alan G Monsborough, who was the chief architect of the M&MTB from 1925-1938. The depot is actually in Hawthorn, off Riversdale Road, with the shed itself on Camberwell Road. The tram line here was created much earlier, opening in 1917, and the cute little shelter may date from then, and perhaps relocated here later. I took these photos in 2013, when what looks like an original tram wire /electricity pole was being replaced.
