I knew ‘immigrant nostalgia’ was a thing, but not that there’s a place in Lygon Street that’s dedicated to the idea ! Opening in mid 2023, Johnny, Vince & Sam’s is the brainchild of the 3 blokes called Sooshi Mango who do skits on YouTube dressed up as their nonnas and pappas. My background is very white but I had 2nd gen woggy friends at uni, and sometimes their houses were just like this – one even had the plastic on the couch. I love it all, especially the white balustrade complete with lion out the front. All pics from various reviews and websites.
