A tower in Hawthorn, but hunting ?

A grand mansion, or perhaps large house – but it does have a tower ! And it’s called Huntingtower (and said to have great views). Dating from 1890, it’s in Church Street Hawthorn, and in my memory was once much more visible, but you get a good view from the gate.

Whats more it’s another design from the prolific John Beswicke, a 5 min walk from my last post. It’s basically Italianate but going a bit Queen Anne with the red brick.

Real estate pics show the interior is pretty bloody good, and even more Queen Anne, like the stair balustrade. And it’s got a tessellated tiled hall. And I like the green upstairs.
