Balaclava Kambrook

Balaclava Kambrook

9 September 2025

I think I had a breakthrough with my psychologist yesterday, but equally exciting was her new practice – in a very cute terrace with a lot of patterned tiles. I’ve seen them used here and there but not this many in one go. It’s called Ben Bolt Villa, built 1888, near the corner of Balaclava and Kambrook Roads North Caulfield. Amongst the mostly Edwardian and later houses, it’s one of a little cluster of late Victorian houses and shops, which are heritage listed in part because they were mostly developed by the one family, the Wybars, Scottish immigrants who arrived via NZ in 1885, and now I know that history I’ll post the rest one day ! Info from the 2022 heritage study.
