Cute little eye catcher on Sturt Street Southbank overlooking the freeway ramps, all bright orange and rounded edge. It’s the HQ for the SES, built 2002, designed by @h2o_architectes. Im guessing that’s fire engine red ? The orange check is the SES colour.
Hmm my photos 1, 3 were winter in 2021, the colour seems to have faded from the pic 2 by H20 presumably c2002. Pic 4 is CofM, 2011.
The design has a lot of passive energy management built in, for which it won the (R)AIA Sustainability Award in 2004. The photos also show the development of Southbank over 24 years, especially the aggressive looking Guild apartments next door, completed 2013.
