William Pitt double vision.

So #WilliamPittArchitect designed the #MelbourneStockExchange (left) first in 1888, then the #SafeDeposit (for the Stock Exchange Co, facing Queen Street, the two forming an L), in 1889, winning a competition – guess they liked the fact it was so much like the earlier design! The Safe Deposit was finished first in 1890, I guess because not in carved stone, and doesn’t have a grand hall on the ground level. But obviously Mr Pitt was not averse to recycling design elements. Now I think I should compare to the #RialtoMelbourne….
