All that’s left of the #DentonCorkerMarshall interiors of the #AdelphiHotelMelbourne, a revamp of an Art Deco 1938 #FlindersLane warehouse by #JosephPlottel. DCM added the steel tiles and stair treads here, and the characteristic angular sticks. I loved their 1992 interiors, complete with angular bespoke furniture in primary colours, meant to get it heritage listed at some point, but it went bit by bit, till interiors complete overhauled in 2013.
In answer to my post a follower sent me this photo of an Adelphi couch on sale for $2500 at the Smith Street Bazaar, so seems they weren’t lost ! (And not a primary coloured as I recall).
