A rather nice Edwardian warehouse on #LonsdaleStreet built in c1904 for Sniders & Abraham Tobacco to go with their warehouses in the lane behind. Just saw scaffolding, don’t know what for, no planning applications, fortunately it got #heritagelisted last year, so presumably nothing drastic. It’s called Pacific House cos from 1984 it was Pacific Typewriters, back when typewriters are a thing.
Update 2024: the scaffolding was indeed for something major – the place was entirely gutted to become a multilevel hospitality venue in 2022. I’ve finally realised that’s a new thing that’s wrecked a few heritage places around town, the Waterside Hotel the latest. They also got a permit up paint it all white somehow, should be unpainted red brick. Last pic shiavello constructions.
