Another architectural disaster from #BridgeRoadRichmond …… I was going to say that the Epworth demolished the left half of this, but no, seems it was always like this; and it was built in 1941 for Grynberg Drapers. With two flats upstate each accessed from inside each of the two shops.
So the disaster is just that it looks like parts been chopped off, cos the Epworth entry isn’t very sympathetic. And the graffiti. Hmmm maybe the building line actually steps in here? So a corner is exposed. Odd. And the building is very nice, curves and steps and a #portholewindow.

Pleased to discover this cute little Deco facade on Bridge Road next to the Epworth is going to get restored as part of a new home for the hospital’s nursing and midwifery school, the Brooke’s Academy. The Epworth bought it in 2022, but its sported that big graffiti since 2019.

Feb 2026 it’s now just a facade
