Until recently I wouldn’t have given this kind of block a second look, but this one at 57 Mitford Street Elwood had nice details like patterned mosaic tiles and brickwork, and wrought iron, a bit of interest on an otherwise modern design. Probably 1960s. Big windows, reasonably spacious, though the dining area in the front ones don’t get much light. There’s others just look out the sides / back. These types of places are probably still affordable, relatively.

Update 2024 : maybe not so affordable – no 11 a 2 bed out the back sold for $730,000 in 2020. Also, they changed the mosaic for rough stone work ! Still in period but I wonder why ?
