@theageaustralia rang me to do an article about ‘all the abandoned buildings’ but I said there weren’t that many – but it made me make a list, I’ve got 6 as well as the ex Barclay hotel in previous post – they’re mostly in the retail area, and the rent on the shops is enough income, and mostly they’re quite narrow, and so hard to restore with a lift and stairs for instance for apartments, so it just hasn’t happened – yet – two of them (1st and 3rd) have permits for office and apartments issued recently. They’re 21 Elizabeth, 105 Elizabeth, 166 Russell, 420 Bourke, 163 Swanston, and above Paddy Palins in Bourke, not totally sure about that one- if anyone has more details let me know !
