The #MoorabbinBowl #TenPinBowling, the best example left in Victoria of the first wave of these being built, and the only one with a heritage listing (though not before it was all painted blue). Architect #TheodoreBerman, built 1962. Sharp #modernist edges, but a great variety of materials and textures, mostly now under blue paint. But really, pretty intact. Less interesting inside I think, but didn’t get in. The similar but more intact Mentone Bowl was demolished in the 90s, but this one got listed by @kingstoncouncil, though not the interior.

The Mentone Bowl was designed by an employee of Berman’s with whom he understandably fell out. The Mentone Bowl was very intact and operated until the late 2000s. The wrong bowling alley got demolished

Absolutely- but we must cherish the one that’s left – heritage register ?
