Postmodern reference, but rather literal – this new block of #StKildaFlats has an actual map of #StKilda on it; but not our place, instead it’s the Scottish islands from which the name comes (there is no actual saint, nobody knows how the westernmost #outerhebrides ended up with that name). I thought it was just just some kind of hoarding till I looked closely. #TheMarcApartments by #BruceHenderson on Princes Street #StKilda, 2017. It’s a sort of fence for a ground level apartment- of the sort I think shouldn’t be allowed, given the rushing traffic and the way the fence blocks what little light would get in the main windows.
April 2026, the orange has faded to pink. And just noticed there’s a depiction of the ship.
