Infill in Richmond

Infill in Richmond

31 December 2024

Don’t know why exactly but I quite like this one – of all the boring or intrusive or cheap looking mid rise infill around town these days. Perhaps it’s the level of detail of the boxes, that is to say, ins and outs and colours, creating some variety. Also that the top bit is well set back and quite different in expression, something I prefer to small setbacks and similar expression reading all as one mass. Plans a bit squeezy, and tiny window for the lounge/dine/kitchen, but there’s a balcony. The snorkel window for the second bed wouldn’t meet today’s guidelines. It’s in Burnley Street Richmond, just off Swan Street, called Billy & Co, completed 2017, by @interlandi_mantesso_architects.
