‘Montgomery’, a rather stylish little block of 6 flats in Toorak Road West, check out that stripey brickwork ! Designed by Marsh & Michaelson and built 1939, the horizontal lines are rather Modern, but there’s also a rather cute wrought iron balconette and fence, and Art Deco leadlight in the door. Originally all one beds, the former kitchens are now a second bed, and the balconies glassed in for new kitchens. But I wouldn’t say no. Photos July 2021.

Taurea, in Toorak Road West, facing Fawkner Park, great spot, interesting design. Built 1936, architects Gawler & Drummond, it’s got a lot of curvy Art Deco streamlining, but unusually also has a textured render finish, and patterned strips up each side. Both those things rather undermine the otherwise sleek design actually.
They were sold as a lot in 2015, with plans showing their simple layout and fairly spacious dimensions. They seem to still be rentals, and found a rental ad with showing the lounge has some speed lines round the fireplace, and one intact kitchen and bathroom. First 3 my pics Sept last year.
