If you don’t mind the traffic….the cute little two-flat building right where Punt Road meets the river was sold in April. It was built in 1922, the date of the aerial photo, and probably built by whoever built the four simpler blocks around it. They’re all part of a heritage precinct, but no details on this one. (It’s possible they’re by Howard Lawson who did similar maisonettes in 1922 very nearby in Caroline Street). The 10m easement along the east side of Punt Road for road widening applies here, but maybe it’ll never happen. It’s got a Victorian style fence to the side, but it’s not original, when I looked closely it’s made of reasonably convincing fake stone, and metal. The two uphill and one behind are similar but much plainer.

It seems odd that there aren’t fireplaces in the living rooms. Early gas heating perhaps, but then why not gas in the bedrooms too?
The government may as well remove easement. It’s never going to acceptable to widen the road and make Punt Highway. I doubt it affects property values now.
