The #FoyAndGibson buildings in #Collingwood occupy a number of whole blocks down hill from #SmithStreetCollingwood, which are more monolithic in my mind than a photo can capture but you get the idea.
They had a huge #departmentstore in 3 buildings on Smith Street and basically made everything here ! From wool to cloth to clothes and from wood to furniture- the joys of #protectionism. All the buildings were designed by #WilliamPittArchitect, built from the 1880s to the 1910s, and kept him going during the 1890s depression.
Sold and converted at various times for various uses, so some are missing windows, others have big rooftop extensions, some offices, some are apartments (high ceilinged but not many windows).
