Delightful little #ArtDeco number on #ABeckettStreet, built 1939, for A G Way & Co, sheet metal workers, especially milk cans 😮. Designed by Alder & Lacey (who I’ve never heard of). I like the way the darker brick horizontal #spandrels stick out a little. Fortunately got #heritagelisted as part of the City North review in 2015. Oddly the building it’s attached to behind, no 215 Franklin Street, which is equally nice, got knocked off during the Panel process, and I’m not sure why – no doubt smart arguing by some lawyers, which goes to show the process is never perfect, the ones where the owner complains and get examined might drop off, while the ones that arnt queried sail through, even if not as good/interesting/more altered.
