The Biltmore, St Kilda

Original post 18 October 2019

The fabulous vaguely #ArtNouveau but really Arts & Crafts plus Romanesque plus #CalBung pergola called the Biltmore in #EildonRoadStKilda, 1923, no architect known, just Dunlop Home Builders. They’re all 2 beds with a main one and a small one at the back, which opens off the kitchen so I assume for the maid, though the point of flats in the early days was that they were easy to look after. Maybe they all had the corridor originally? Still, looks like for staff or maybe possibly noisy kids. The block was only #stratatitled in 2008.
