So much better than the average contemporary apartment development- #StLeonardsApartments designed by #NondaKatsalidis, #StKilda, built 1995-6. Generous garden apartments at ground level, and extra planting, all now grown, 3 separate entry/stairs, no corridors, every room good windows, generous balconies, various materials, great ! Perhaps a tiny bit busy, with rather sharp bits around the entry doors, bit still, great ! No lifts. It’s in two blocks, the main on the south replaced a 60s office building built for the Australian Institute of Management, which had in turn replaced the grand Victorian mansion St Leonards in 1969. The other block, with curved roofs, was I think the carparking for AIM, and was garden/paddocks before. Behind both blocks townhouse lots were created, with few of the houses terribly interesting.
