The #EvanWalkerBridge, 1989, designed by #CocksCarmichaelWhitford, better than all the recent ones I think, but then I’m a fan of #postmodern traditional references (the arch), as well as all the angular goings-on, even the plan is angular. And here it is without people. Named after former planning minister Evan Walker in 2015; he certainly helped the whole Southbank thing go forward, though he was minister for the arts by the time this got built. I’m told it was probably a nice pale purple originally instead of the current grey. And in 2018 it won the AIA (Vic) #EnduringArchitecture Award.
