The new #SouthMelbourneBeach pavilion by @jcbarchitects is very minimalist, a simple very low profile and grey render (precast?), quite nice but I’d have liked a bit of something? Bright colours inside. Great that there’s a fair amount of under cover space on the beach, where there isn’t really any. It’s mostly for the lifesavers, but there’s a glass walled function room too, with a kiosk, but I feel like I’d prefer a cafe, if it’s just going to be empty most of the time (or was it just winter? – you can rent it for an evening for only $700 with a reduction for community groups…)
The bit sticking up is the life savers lookout, I found a pic of inside.
