Fantastic #highvictorian house in #LochStreetStKilda, which I can’t believe I havnt posted before ! And also my god after it was sold in 2010 (having been the West StKilda RSL since perhaps 1949) the new owners did an amazing job restoring all the missing bits ! The @nationaltrustvic has an old photo so I’m sure that helped. You can only see the tower now from one angle. I dont know date or architect, quite a mystery cos it looks late 1880s, but the 1896 MMBW map doesn’t show it. Update : it’s actually 1898-99 ! Very retro for that date. Architect was John Little, must be the most amazing thing he ever did since never heard of him. And the renovation was by @helen_lardner and #shelleypennarchitect and #donaldgallagherarchitects and was shortlisted for the #AIA (Vic) heritage award in 2019.
The unrenovated and interior photos are from the 2010 sale, the old photo from the National Trust file, likely 60s or 70s.
