An interesting block on Toorak Road West in South Yarra- built 1938, designed by one of my fave architects, #IGAnderson, but not quite his signature bold folded or curved volumes, a bit more domestic, and more typical Art Deco, but still plenty of curves and horizontals and verticals in feature brick- with a massive chimney, and great entry details. Compact inside; it is a tight site. Seems to be called ‘lissadurn’. The 1938 article says 4 studio flats ground level, 2×2 bed each floor above, but the first sale I found shows an oddly shaped one bed, maybe two together? Built different to description?
