Original post 3 March 2021:
Very glad to see this house up for #heritagelisting by the @cityofgleneira – this is what I said in 2019 : The 1973 #KurtzHouse by #HolgarAndHolgar in #LumeahStreet #NorthCaulfield is not only amazing as a super-glam yet not kitschy design from one of my fave architect teams, but it survived almost unchanged till 2008, then the new owners got #KennedyNolan to do it up, and they made it MORE glam ! Kept all the best parts, and ramped up the colour and pattern ! (Interior photos from various reviews). Sold again in 2015, and looks still unchanged and why would you ?

It was heritage listed by @cityofgleneira in 2021, but they didn’t list the interior because it had been ‘too altered’, so it seems who ever bought it in 2015 altered it a bit more, but hard to say since there’s lots of photos from then, but only two from before, the muddy blurry ones (via Simon Reeves of Built Heritage), and they show that in 2008 the bar was moved, and the kitchen cupboards were new, only the fab circular island was original. What’s more the 2021 panel report noted that ‘’bespoke timber work’, light fittings, and the ‘futuristic kitchen’, had all been removed, which sounds like even more was changed or removed, but hard to know exactly what. And of course makes me think why would you buy such a unique place and then remove some of the best bits ?
