I like this one ! In Sydney Street Prahran facing Orrong Park. It’s a relatively simple organic idea of flowing thin edge floor plates held apart by rounded topped columns, with just glass between, but very well done.
Completed in 2022 it shows the architects Wood Marsh still being creative into their mature years (though mid 60s isn’t old these days).
The fluted asymmetric columns are particularly nice, with their outward flowing heads, in shiny white. They appear to be randomly placed, but actually some continue as columns inside an apartment wall, since each floor has a different layout, and others are I think not totally necessary for the structure, but the effect is great. The Wood Marsh website has a nice image of one of in the factory.
The sides and rear seem to be devoid of the columns, and the whole thing slopes at the rear I guess to avoid overshadowing. It also makes a great contrast with the very square but also white 1974 block next door by Sol Sapir.
