Chef factory 1963, fun modern from Theodore Berman.

Chef factory 1963, fun modern from Theodore Berman.

8 January 2019 The excellent #CraigAndSeeley factory offices in #Brunswick, built in 1963, designed by #TheodoreBerman, one of the mostly Jewish postwar #EmigreArchitects (or @othermoderns). Love it, all that colours! Intense green, patterned, and bright red, over black and white (incl white mosaic tiles on the columns). Fire Station Modern

Fire Station Modern

#BrunswickFireStation, 1937, designed by #SeabrookandFildes, who did a few around town but this is the best. Love the wacky angled gap/windows and the attention to detail. Tagleitti was an Italian … Continue reading St Kilda Public Library, Enrico Taglietti, 1973.

Queens College Melbourne University – Eakins Hall

Original post 15 October 2018: The speccy #EakinsHall at #QueensCollege #Melbourne University was built 1964. Love that folded timber ceiling, presumably cladding some interesting trusses. Designed by #BatesSmartMcCutcheon, it makes and interesting comparison with their Wilson Hall of a few years before; more modern, but less fine materials. The walls are #concreteblock, perhaps meant to … Continue reading Queens College Melbourne University – Eakins Hall
