#FootscrayCityPrimarySchool, which I think is pretty cute, a madly squished up collection of #Tudor features, built 1887, added to the more typically spreading rectangular 1877 earlier part, set back from the street. Both parts seem to have all original windows, which is rare. I’ve put the 1960s photo first because of that #poorlyplacedtree. I think there’s a steeple/spire missing from the tower over the door, but the crazy tall diagonal chimney make up for it. This is in Hyde Street, not the more photogenic one in Geelong Rd. Presumably designed by #HenryBastow, the architect for the Education Department who designed most of the first wave of primary schools when the state started building them 1872.
