A #postmodern post in honour of the passing of #RobertVenturi, #EagleInsurance, William Street, from 1986 by #DentonCorkerMarshall, not much #complexityandcontradiction, but it does mark a return to decoration and pattern, a hint at the classical, with a base, middle and top, complete with #cornice, and a nod to history, with the #baywindow a memory of the first design that would have kept two historic facades, with the bay plonked on top of one, but in the end everyone decided better to demolish them than keep just the front walls. (Of course even better to keep front parts with new construction well set back, not sure why that wasn’t an option).
