I noticed something going on at the front of the Palais the other day- and this is it ! A big change and not sure I like it. Grass and plants and plaza instead of road is great but I would have maybe acknowledged the theatre a bit more – kept a diagonal view from the Esplanade/side street intersection clear of planting, maybe a bigger plaza, a grander feel to the whole thing. And the style is restained concrete contemporary, which has nothing to do with the theatre or the Edwardian era slopes, with their rock walls and curving paths, part of which this is replacing. A bit clashy I think. And maybe there should be a drop off zone ?
